Myrtle Village is an affordable housing project sponsored by Myrtle Baptist Church to develop seven units of affordable housing on church owned property at 12, 18 & 20 Curve Street. Thanks to your unflagging support, Myrtle Village has achieved substantial goals including grants from the City of Newton for $1,853,858 in development. We have also received Site Eligibility approval from the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Development, which allows us to apply for a Comprehensive Permit from the Newton Zoning Board of Appeals.

Our hearing before the Zoning Board of Appeals is will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 7:00pm at Newton City Hall on the 2nd floor. This is a public hearing and we need to have as many people as possible attend these hearings in support of Myrtle Village. Your continued support of Myrtle Village is critical at this time, we are nearing the end of the process, but we are not there yet and still need your help. We ask all Newton residents to please come and join us on November 25th and ask your Newton neighbors, friends, families and co-workers to come also.

Learn more about the project on the City of Newton’s website: http://www.newtonma.gov/gov/planning/cpa/projects/myrtle.asp
