Church Covenant – Part 2

Categories: Pastor Blog

Church covenants have been an important aspect of Baptist history for over four hundred years. Historically they have provided a means to promote holy living and accountability within the church as well as to outline the standards of behavior and discipline of church members. This course will explore the significance of the Baptist Church Covenant and its use during the ordinance of communion, with particular emphasis on the liturgy of Holy Communion at Myrtle Baptist Church. Using the lenses of scripture, Baptist history and polity, and socio-cultural analysis, we will explore what it means to be authentic followers of Christ walking out a living faith in a postmodern American context.
