FOLLOW-UP – Long Island Shelter Closure

Categories: Announcements,Events

As promised, this post is a follow-up to the Long Island postcard campaign held during the worship service this past Sunday morning. Thank you to everyone who participated by filling out a postcard on Sunday. While those cards have been mailed to the Mayor’s office, our efforts for this cause continue.

Here is an information sheet with a brief description of current situation with shelter closure as well as the text of the message and mailing address from the postcards for those who would still like to participate.

The website and Facebook page for the project are live. Please visit the sites, share this information with your networks, and join the efforts as we continue to advocate for our brothers and sisters in need of “adequate, dignified and stable” shelter this winter.

Further updates on ways that we will support this cause as a community of faith will be shortly forthcoming.

Be blessed.
